Rated:Red is a 21+ live dance, music, and burlesque experience staged inside a fully 360-degree projection-mapped theater. Original choreography and a diverse cast of dancers perform alongside a live band, all wrapped in immersive digital projection art — a bolder, more sensual take on the traditional Las Vegas show.
The visual content for Rated:Red was never meant to sit behind the performance — it was built to move with it, as a living scenic element as essential to the show as the dancers themselves. My approach started long before any pixel was rendered: I studied raw performance test footage of the choreography frame by frame, tracking the rhythm of each movement, the accents in the music, and the emotional arc of every number, so the visuals could be built in direct conversation with the bodies on stage — a pose landing precisely as a wall ignites, lines trailing as they trace the wall edges, a silhouette dissolving into projected texture at exactly the right beat.
I had the privilege to create and art direct a larger share of the show’s scenes, brought to life across Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Cinema 4D — guiding the visual language, palette, and pacing so every scene felt like part of one cohesive world. As lead on the project, I then compiled the complete show in Premiere Pro, weaving together my own scenes with content from the rest of the artist team into a single continuous time-coded composition — treating the theater itself as the canvas, with light, color, and motion choreographed to respond to the live performance in real time.
Beyond the content itself, I oversaw, compiled and rendered the full final production across our team of artists and personally quality-checked every projection mapping placement on-site to ensure the visuals aligned precisely to the theater walls. I also built out the show’s complete brand identity, including logo design and supporting graphic design— establishing a visual language sensual and bold enough to match the show’s own personality before a single frame of content was ever projected.
