Northern California I 2023
Year seven, I pushed further outward, almost literally — the ground-level forest/pond setting disappeared entirely and the mascot found itself floating against a nebula, all magenta, coral, and electric blue clouds streaked with light. I gave the figure feathered, angelic wings flanking the speakers, which was the furthest I’d taken it from the “person wearing headphones” reading of the original 2017 mark. This was the year I wanted the poster to feel less grounded and more like a vision — something you’d see with your eyes closed at 3am on the dance floor.
