Northern California  I  2025

Ten years ago, I started designing flyers for a music gathering in California. I had no idea I was signing up for a decade-long love letter.

The Untz Festival describes itself as an intentional, co-created community gathering — integrating underground electronic dance music, visionary art, creative expression, and transformational counterculture. What that actually looks like, if you’ve never been: thousands of the most talented, big-hearted weirdos you’ll ever meet, building something together year after year that’s equal parts art project, family reunion, and fever dream.

As their lead designer, I’ve delivered a majority of their graphic design and festival collateral since 2017 — every annual poster, the evolving brand identity, apparel and merch, print materials, marketing assets, motion graphics and animation, and video content used across the festival’s promotion and on-site visuals. Flip through the poster archive above and you’re looking at ten years of visual evolution — from the desert-sunset glow of 2017 to the neon cityscapes, cosmic eclipses, and glitched-out rave aesthetics of the years since — every one designed to capture a different chapter of who this community was becoming.
